Yawanawa Rapé – Força Feminina

Força Feminina or Feminine Force is a Rapé prepared by one of the daughters of Biraci Nixiwaka, the chief of the Yawanawa. Before this new time of reconnecting to their cultural roots and medicine, Their medicine work was exclusively for males. Chief Biraci’s wife Putani Yawanawa is the first woman together with her sisters to engage in condoned spiritual work. She and her sisters for the first time undertook their one-year initiation diet. Their daughter Nawashahu carries on the work of her parents, receiving and singing her medicine songs and making this beautiful Rapé.

She has beautiful songs received by her in the force of their spiritual works both in Portuguese and in their native language. She travels around the world doing ceremonies and bringing joy to many. When she is in their village she make this wonderful Rapé for us to work with and enjoy. They live in the last village up river, Aldeia Sagrada or Sacred Village. It is the place where they lived when they made first contact. It is where they do their initiations and where the sanctuary of their ancestors is located.

Força Feminina, the Feminine Force

We started working with Nawashahu many years ago after her father Chief Nixiwaka or Biraci Brasil suggested to buy some Snuff from her and her sisters. This was the first female Rapé we bought from the tribes. For that reason we gave it the name Força Feminina, to respect its origin and respect the Force if the indigenous women.

The recipe of Força Feminina is the basic Yawanawá. Made with a good strong tobacco blended with original Tsunu ashes. Feminine Force is a powerful snuff, one of our favorites! It is a Sacred Snuff loved many, men and women alike. Haux Haux.
