More about Shamanic Snuff – Paricá Tobacco Free
Powerful. Strong. Potent. Words that can be used to describe both Sacred Connections Shamanic Snuff – Paricá Tobacco Free blend, and the people who choose to make use of this formidable snuff. Paricá ashes are the source of this rapé enhanced power, an ingredient that is capable of providing strength, vigor, a sense of grounding as well as restoration, and physical energy. It is believed, even, that Caboclo-Paricá rapés were once only used by experienced Pajés (healers), as part of their process of reaching out to spirits and during healing rituals, and due to its grounding quality, it is a prime choice of snuff for daily meditation and spiritual transcendency.
The Paricá tree (Schizolobium amazonicum) is native to the regions of Colombia, Peru, the south of Venezuela, and the northwest region of the Brazilian Amazon, and its flourishing period only happens during dry seasons. Once its flowers bloom, the crown of Paricá trees becomes decorated and alive with gorgeous shades of yellow, and the air around it becomes filled with delightful perfume. Amongst its medicinal benefits, the fruit from the Paricá tree can also be used in treatments meant for both the reproductive and respiratory systems. The tree gum that comes from the Paricá’s bark is commonly used in the making of syrups, infusions, and even paint, and can be infused into medicaments used for alleviating coughing, contusions, rheumatism, and even sexual diseases, amongst other uses.
Taking rapé should always be a process that involves deep respect and care.
AWIRY:
Awiry is a plant often used by the Apurinã tribe in the making of their rapé, and it is considered to be some kind of wild tobacco. It usually brings a rich, green undertone to most rapé blends, and it can only be harvested during the dry seasons, as riverbanks recede and the plant can be reached. Unlike the sort of nicotine used in regular cigarettes, for example, Awiry is neither fermented nor heated, but instead left to dry naturally before being ground up and passed through a sieve, so its vibrant green color can be preserved even as a fine powder.
Shamanic snuffs that make use of Awiry are often used in spiritual rituals, ceremonies, and healing rites, especially by the Apurinã tribe, since it is a source of medicinal healing and energetic enhancement and grounding for an improved connection with the divine, and better balance and greater well-being. Such blends can be used for the strengthening of one’s spirit, mind cleansing, improved focus, stress and anxiety reduction, and as a treatment for certain respiratory issues and forms of headache.
While the Apurinã, as it was mentioned before, use Awiry in the making of their rapé, their blend formula involves a small amount of ashes in addition to a greater percentage of Awiry. For Sacred Connection’s tobacco free line, the ratio of Awiry to other components (such as ashes) follows the standard recipe for blends that typically contain tobacco: the blends are made primarily of the other medicinal components listed in the description of each product, and a small amount of Awiry (equivalent to that of tobacco in our other lines).
