Mulata is a powerful Nukini Rapé blend made with a strong tobacco mapacho base and Tsunu ashes. The medicine has a nice red color and the pleasant scent of the herbs used in the blend. Mulata (Tanacetum vulgare), Caatinga de Mulata or Mulatinha is a herb that has calming properties. Although it came originally from Europe and Asia it is widely used around Brasil and in the Amazon. It became part of local popular culture.

Apart from in Rapé, it is also traditionally used for the reduction of stress. Mothers use it sometimes to calm small children when they are agitated or to help to make them sleep. It is, as many of the medicines, also used in herbal baths for its relaxing quality. In Nukini Rapé they use it for this calming and relaxing effect. A Rapé Snuff that is strong and quite dark but has the herbs to bring within the strength some relaxation and be able to navigate the force. Very pleasant.

Nukini Rapé

The Nukini are another tribe who nearly lost their culture and medicine Shamanic Snuff tradition with the rubber boom but brought it back more recently. Their snuffs became known as some of the most sought after mainly because of the high quality Nukini Rapé from our friend and partner Xiti Nukini. This particular Nukini Rapé was made by another member of his extended family.

The Nukini are a tribe that worked for the rubber bosses and as such mixed with them. Like this there is a part of the tribe that has non indigenous blood and maybe like that some of the plants and herbs from got incorporated in their culture through this mixture.
