More about String Smudge
This Smudge is made from a piece of natural rope drenched in a solution of Sipá or Breu Branco, a Brazillian Copal variety. It is a tree resin harvested and either used fresh or dried. Sipá is used by the tribes of the region like the Yawanawá in their prayers or healing ceremonies. When someone is sick or there is another negative energy to be taken care of the first thing they do is burn Sipá to clean the area and carry their prayers wherever they have to go.
In this string form it is sweet smelling delightful and highly effective smudge, can be used multiple times.
Locally it is called a “Vela Indiana” or Indian candle.
